Live Examples to show you my ability as a coder. I highly recommend you goto my code pages I have several examples downloadable in pdf format. Most of these are segments from other projects I have done as a subcontractor but all of it was written by me. Due to being stripped versions of larger projects there may be some erroneous code. Unfortunately some of my code can not be posted due to commercial contracts.
Newstin.com Go Now

Global Social News Platform. This is my current employer. Located on the top floor of Pankrachouse I am the only HTML, Javascript, Jquery, CSS, AJAX, and Freemarker developer. We employ about 30 employees for this website and I take the vision of the graphics department using mock-up screen shots made in Photoshop and putting converting getting that on the website. The Java programmers about do their part and I use Freemarker to grab that data and implement it on the website.
This has been very challenging and I am probably the busiest person there because all the people need me to make things happen on the website. You can contact any member of management for a great reference I have been keeping up with very heavy demands. I also wish you check out the site.
Also the CSS for this site has been extremely complicated because it has several languages and I never know how big the text will be on other sites. The design department does not know web coding so I end up trying to write efficiently and implement there ideas.

Interesting things to point out

  • If you look at the commenting system on this site it is probably one of the best ones out there. People can reply to other's replies and much more. This is complicated from a coding perspective but looks and works great. The forms will be converted to AJAX to optimize page load as I get time.
  • Arabic CSS has been the most challenging thing for me. The language is read from the right to left so this one page requires a separate CSS page. All float left's become float rights all position:relative etc are reversed!
  • They had paid an external company to do what I am handling by myself now. I am trying to clean up that code and get comfortable in it while lots of demands are coming in.
This is my latest project at my employer. The front end was completely created by me and backend data I worked out with the Java team. I hope you enjoy. This site demonstrations strong skills in Javascript and the ability to style several different languages including Arabic! Feel free to check out all of the css and even take a look at how easily I implemented the Arabic styling a separate css file comes up with a few modifications and converts the entire site. This site is live and ready for you to use at Emerging Stories I couldn't share all of the code due to contract reasons but I have posted the Javascript in the code section and of course you can get this and the CSS just by viewing the source from the website in your browser.
Blogging Site Public Demo Main Site
Admin Section Username:public password:public

Lets sit down and go through this source code together I can point out the kind of skills I have by explaining this sites code to you.

My pride and joy! It is fully customizable by the user including colors, and all content. On this site a user can create their own blog then activate there account through email and then login. From there they can make there own blog entries and much more. You can log into the public demonstration site to avoid signing up and you will be provided with passwords and everything to start using the Content Management System.

Interesting things to point out

  • All Content on the site is MySQL driven for 100% customization
  • Users can create as many separate blog pages as they like instantly
  • Changing colors is a breeze with my powerful color script and can even save multiple color layouts
  • When a new user is created there is only one actual file written for the CSS. Then a blank directory is created and a file called .htaccess is edited to trick the browser into viewing the same directory as every site. The database picks up the end of the URL and uses that to load the dynamic content. This is so the code does not need to be copied and wasted.
  • Using a customized version of TinyMCE editor users can easily update there site and insert content like flash, movies, etc. They also have there own directories to upload files to with a file manager to browse and organize there content.
  • The admin section is pure AJAX there is not a single page load at all while browsing there.
  • To manage my users there is a login for me that can easily delete all contents, directories, and files with one simple click.
  • Each blog user has there own version of a photo-gallery so they can post there own pictures.
My old computer business Go Now
Source Code (tar.gz)
I ran a successful computer business from 1998-2006. It however was not successful enough to pay all my bills and was forced to get another job. This started dwindling in my priorities because I was having a hard time making appointments and following sales leads while working another job. That is when I started to work more with web design. You are welcome to check out my old site though and if you need a computer fixed now you know I will be able to do that for you too!

Interesting things to point out

  • Graphic colors are blended for a smooth looking layout. There is a tint of red to all the images. Honestly I did not do that with the images but the idea was mine.
  • Live Support on the top. I was able to receive a message on my home computer when a customer wanted to speak to me. If I was away I would turn on an auto responder. This is down now but you can click it still.
  • There is no Content Management System built for this because I was the only one editing it so the source was the only way to change it.
  • This was the first site I had ever written to go live. I started all kinds of web advertisements including Yahoo, Google, and MSN to draw customers.
  • If you read the site, which really is not necessary for you, you would see that I created a remote support system. My customer would download one small .exe file which had my logo on it and then I would access there computer from my office. It is common now but when I started it was amazing to people. I used UltraVNC for this. You could go to my computer section to view more of my computer skills not relevant to web design.
Former employer Go Now

When I had spare time and my partner had extra contracts I would help them with their projects. This company has been around a long time and has a very honorable list of websites they have created in the states. Feel free to visit this site I did create part of the code for this site and you may contact them for any questions you have about me on there contact page. They know me by first name.

Community Website Go Now

Old site not functional first site ever written...
The name of the town I lived in most my life is Traverse City. It was a small town but had allot of events and community things going on all the time. I thought I would help out my community by creating a site that would deliver information about the community right to their browser. The idea was they would make this their homepage and be able to read the news, check events going on, listen to music, surf the web and much more. I was halfway through a rewrite of the site so the pages are still showing the old and new format but it is still useful for you to look at. It was my first site ever created and has not been updated in awhile and never will be now because I moved to the beautiful city of Jirny.
Facebox is a Javascript add on with some pretty cool effects you might be familiar with. Go ahead and click these to see some of the Facebox used right on this site! These are using Ajax to pull data and show you so there is no page load!
